Job summary

MultiCare Health System seeks a Central Service Technician to support our healthcare teams by cleaning, sterilizing and packaging instruments, maintaining inventory, and transporting supplies. This role requires teamwork, organization and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy hospital setting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, completion of a central service program or certified training, and either CRCST certification or related experience.

Qualifications

  • CRCST certification or 1+ year sterile processing experience preferred.
  • Central Service Certification or commitment to obtain within one year as required by location.

Job description

Position Summary

The Central Service Technician works as a team member and is responsible for providing support to the total health care team at MultiCare Health System by cleaning, sterilizing, and packaging instruments, maintaining inventory, and transporting supplies and equipment. This position requires a cooperative manner, service‑oriented attitude, organization of time and equipment, independent decision making in the execution of daily routine duties, and prioritization of multiple tasks. Internal contacts occur on a daily basis and may include patient care providers and Materials Management staff. External contacts are limited but may include patients, vendors, rental companies/agencies, other health care facilities, and physicians.

Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of Central Service Technician course of study or a healthcare organization training program; military training or experience satisfies this requirement for WA state employees, per Title 18 RCW.
  • In lieu of formal training, candidates with a nationally recognized certification (e.g., CRCST) and/or at least one (1) year of recent sterile processing experience preferred.
  • Central Service Certification or commitment to obtain within one year of hire, as required by location.
  • Minimum one (1) year of related experience preferred.
Schedule

FTE: 1.0. Shift: Evening. Schedule: 8‑hour evening shifts plus rotating weekends.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including a competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. The pay scale is $26.67 – $44.05 USD. Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience and certification(s) and/or education.
