SCA Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Clerk (Instrument Processing Technician) to maintain instruments and equipment in optimal condition and to prepare sterile supplies for surgical patients. The role supports the clinical team under supervision and emphasizes sterilization standards and inventory management.

The position requires knowledge of sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and, ideally, prior instrument processing or surgical technologist experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Understanding of sterilization and high-level disinfection technologies including industry standards.
• Prior experience in instrument processing preferred.
• Prior experience as a surgical technologist/procedure technologist preferred.
• Successful completion of BCLS within 90 days or current certification.
• Certification in instrument processing is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Maintains instruments and equipment in optimal condition.
• Prepares instrumentation, equipment, and sterile supplies for the surgical patient.
• Functions as an Instrument Processing Technician under the Clinical Leader/Registered Nurse.
• Knowledge of sterilization procedures and aseptic technique.
• Cleans, wraps, sterilizes, and disinfects instruments and equipment.
• Crossover duties in purchasing supplies and inventory management per policy.
