Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Sterile Processing Clerk to maintain instruments and equipment, and to prepare supplies for the surgical patient. You will work under the direction of the Clinical Leader and RN, applying sterilization and aseptic techniques.

Prerequisites include CSPDT or CRCST certification and a high school diploma or GED. Prior instrument processing experience is required, with BCLS certification due within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Certified Sterile Processing Technician certification is required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Understanding of sterilization and high‑level disinfection technologies required.
• Prior experience in instrument processing required.
• Prior experience as a surgical technologist/procedure technologist preferred.
• BCLS course completed within 90 days of employment or current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains instruments and equipment in an optimal fashion.
• Prepares instrumentation, equipment, and sterile supplies for the surgical patient.
• Functions as an Instrument Processing Technician under the direction of the Clinical Leader/Registered Nurse.
• Knowledge of sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and maintenance of instruments and equipment.
• Cleans, wraps, sterilizes, disinfects instruments and equipment and maintains the instrument processing area.

Education

Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT or CRCST) certification
