Job summary

Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, NH is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to support instrument processing, sterilization, and equipment maintenance in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires safety-focused attention, basic computer skills, and the ability to multitask. A high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification are required, with SPD training preferred and certification within one year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required or equivalent experience.
• BLS – Healthcare Provider certification within 6 months of hire.
• SPD Technician course preferred.
• Certification within one year for non-certified technicians.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, medical supplies and equipment following safety protocols.
• Assemble, wrap and sterilize trays; monitor sterilizers and washers for quality control.
• Maintain clean work areas and accurate records of sterilization processes.
• Initiate maintenance requests for equipment and coordinate with Biomed/Facilities as needed.
• Assist in inventory, restocking supplies and planning for daily surgical case needs.
