Job summary

Speare Memorial Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to decontaminate, sterilize, and assemble instruments while following universal precautions. You will monitor equipment, maintain records, and support infection control in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and a willingness to obtain a healthcare BLS certification within six months. This on-site role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • BLS healthcare provider certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • SPD technician course preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, supplies and equipment.
  • Assemble, wrap and sterilize trays; follow Standard Precautions.
  • Monitor washer, sterilizer, and ultrasonic cleaner operation and records.
  • Maintain clean work area and document equipment maintenance.
  • Assist in inventory and order supplies as needed.
