Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to visit our Richmond-based facilities. The role ensures decontamination, cleaning and assembly of surgical instruments per policy and manufacturer instructions, with attention to infection control standards.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certification, with preferred recent surgical experience. On-call availability and ongoing competency development are expected in a fast-paced OR

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certification required.
• Recent experience in surgical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, and process surgical instruments per manufacturer’s instructions.
• Inventory, stock supplies, and rotate stock per guidelines.
• Track instruments and surgeries using IT systems; document QA.
• Operate sterilizers and verify sterilization with indicators.
• Identify surgical instruments by specialty and assist with setup.
