Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital in Humble, TX. You will maintain instrument records, monitor equipment, and support infection control while working with a responsible team to ensure safe, efficient care for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 1 year of related allied/clinical healthcare training.
• CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification required or within 12 months of hire.
• At least 1 year of Sterile Processing or related healthcare experience.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Basic math skills and ability to lift/move supplies with others.
• Good oral and written communication; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble and sterilize instruments per count sheet and prep procedures.
• Identify, document, and report equipment needing repair; aid maintenance.
• Organize, sterilize, and inspect instruments and supplies for use.
• Load and monitor cleaning and sterilization equipment safely and accurately.
• Maintain records of equipment, supplies and quality control standards.
• Support infection control standards and comply with policies and budgets.
• Act as preceptor/mentor to less experienced staff; promote patient safety.
