Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processor to maintain and sterilize surgical instrumentation and equipment. The role requires knowledge of aseptic techniques and the ability to work under pressure within the OR team.

Under supervision, the Sterile Processor will coordinate with OR staff, monitor schedules, and ensure clean, sterile instruments for procedures. A High School diploma or GED is required; Sterile Processing certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to communicate and understand English (verbal and written).
  • Sterile Processing certification preferred.
  • Minimum of one year Sterile Processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation and sterilization processes.
  • Communicate special equipment needs to Operating Room staff as they arise.
  • Monitor daily instrument schedule and respond to changes in instrumentation.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of theSterileProcessing supervisor and the Director of O.R., theSterileProcessor ensures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation, equipment, and sterilizationprocesses. TheSterileProcessor must demonstrate good knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic techniques, must have knowledge of equipment, instruments, procedures and supplies used in the operating room. TheSterileProcessor must be able to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact and endurance. This position must provide on-going and continual communication with Operating Room staff, including communicating special equipment needs as they arise. TheSterileProcessor must also monitor the daily schedule for changes in instrumentation.

Training, Education & Experience:
  • High School graduate or GEDrequired
