North Carolina Specialty Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join the OR support team. Under supervision of the Sterile Processing supervisor and the OR Director, you will ensure proper care and maintenance of all surgical instruments and sterilization processes.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and effective communication with OR staff. High school diploma or GED is required; Sterile Processing certification is preferred.

Qualifications

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Sterile Process ing supervisor and the Director of O.R., the Sterile Process or ensures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation, equipment, and sterilization process es. The Sterile Process or must demonstrate good knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic techniques, must have knowledge of equipment, instruments, procedures and supplies used in the operating room. The Sterile Process or must be able to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact and endurance. This position must provide on-going and continual communication with Operating Room staff, including communicating special equipment needs as they arise. The Sterile Process or must also monitor the daily schedule for changes in instrumentation.
