Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the OR by ensuring proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation and sterilization processes.

You will collaborate with OR staff, maintain aseptic techniques, and participate in daily scheduling of instrumentation needs while working under supervision of the Sterile Processing supervisor and OR Director.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED required.
  • Certification in Sterile Processing is preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of Sterile Processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of the Sterile Processing supervisor and OR Director, ensures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation and sterilization processes.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Sterile Processing supervisor and the Director of O.R., the Sterile Processing or ensures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation, equipment, and sterilization processes. The Sterile Processing or must demonstrate good knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic techniques, must have knowledge of equipment, instruments, procedures and supplies used in the operating room. The Sterile Processing or must be able to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact and endurance. This position must provide ongoing and continual communication with Operating Room staff, including communicating special equipment needs as they arise. The Sterile Processing or must also monitor the daily schedule for changes in instrumentation.
