Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processor to ensure sterile processing, handling, and sterilization of surgical instruments for the operating room. The role requires attention to aseptic technique and clear communication with OR staff.

The position emphasizes teamwork, accuracy under pressure, and adherence to safety standards within a physician-owned hospital setting. Prior Sterile Processing experience and certification are preferred, with a competitive benefits package

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.

• Certification in Sterile Processing is preferred.
• A minimum of one year of Sterile Processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and care for all surgical instrumentation, equipment, and sterilization processes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic technique principles and operating room supplies.
• Communicate instrument needs with Operating Room staff and monitor daily instrument scheduling.
• Work under pressure with professionalism and accuracy.
• Collaborate with OR team to ensure timely availability of sterilized instruments.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Sterile Processing supervisor and the Director of O.R., the Sterile Processor ensures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation, equipment, and sterilization processes. The Sterile Processor must demonstrate good knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic techniques, must have knowledge of equipment, instruments, procedures and supplies used in the operating room. The Sterile Processor must be able to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact and endurance. This position must provide on-going and continual communication with Operating Room staff, including communicating special equipment needs as they arise. The Sterile Processor must also monitor the daily schedule for changes in instrumentation.
