Job summary

St. Louis Eye Surgery & Laser Center in Des Peres, MO seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to support OR staff by decontaminating, sterilizing and assembling instruments according to standards. You will document activity, monitor equipment and participate in ongoing training.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of related experience, BLS, and strong organization with attention to detail. Office hours Mon-Fri with some early/late shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of related experience or training.
• Central Sterile or OR experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under stress.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/walk as needed.

Responsibilities

• Organize, decontaminate and assemble instruments for OR, Lasik, SLT and MD offices.
• Prepare instruments according to guidelines and wrap/pack properly.
• Prioritize tasks and manage time per case schedule.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Document instrument status and record keeping.
• Mentor new staff and participate in meetings and education.
• Support cost containment and maintain a healthy work environment.
