Job summary

UNC Lenoir Health Care is seeking a Central Sterile Technician for the Sterile Processing department in Kinston, NC. This per diem role supports the operating room, emergency department, and ancillary units by sterilizing and preparing reusable instruments and supplies.

The position requires a High School diploma with CNA or Surgical Technician preferred; no prior experience required. Evening shifts with on-site hours and competitive hourly wages are offered.

Qualifications

• High School graduate required.
• CNA or Surgical Technician preferred.
• Certification as Nursing Assistant or Surgical Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness and sterility of work area and equipment.
• Operates sterilization equipment and prepares instruments for sterilization.
• Monitors sterilization equipment and records test results.
• Papers and records management for items processed.
• Organizes and prioritizes daily work activities.
• Maintains storeroom inventory and supplies.
• Transports instrument carts to destinations.
