Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness and sterility of work area, equipment, and instruments.
• Cleans work area and equipment after use.
• Wears proper attire in relation to dirty, clean or sterile areas of department.
• Manually cleans soiled instruments and equipment prior to sterilization.
• Checks instruments for cleanliness prior to wrapping for sterilization.
• Instruments are clean and free of contaminants.
• Wraps sets according to policy.
• Monitors sterilization equipment daily to ensure accuracy of tests and procedures.
• Compiles, records, maintains and files information pertaining to all items received and processed.
