Job summary

The Charleston VA Healthcare Network is seeking a Medical Supply Technician to sterilize and prepare supplies, decontaminate reusable medical devices, and support distribution of RMD across the medical center.

The role requires operating sterilization equipment, following infection control principles and SOPs, and maintaining proper records. Training modules like TMS and VA SPS Level 1 are expected; on-site work with a possible on-call component.

Qualifications

• Experience in decontamination and sterilization of reusable medical devices.
• Ability to follow procedures and SOPs.
• Completion of TMS modules and VA SPS Level 1 certification.
• Knowledge of GI endoscope reprocessing and related devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform full decontamination of reusable medical devices.
• Prepare and assemble instrumentation trays/sets for clinics.
• Provide distribution support for RMD with timely issuing and restocking.
• Operate washers, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers per IFUs/SOPs.
• Maintain storage and documentation for RMD; ensure proper handling.
• Complete required training modules such as TMS and VA SPS Level 1.
• Work schedule: Mon-Fri, 3:00pm-11:30pm; on-call duties may apply.
