Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a committed Sterile Processing Technician for the 2nd shift, Sunday through Thursday, 11 PM to 7 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays. You will prepare, clean, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and equipment for use in OR, L&D, and endoscopy, ensuring compliance with safety and documentation standards.

Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and ideally prior sterile processing experience.

Qualifications

Previous sterile processing experience preferred.
CRCST/CBSPD Certification within 6 months of employment, CER preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepares, inspects and assembles surgical instruments, powered equipment, and endoscopes into trays for sterilization.
Collects, cleans, disinfects patient care equipment and instruments from O.R., L&D and other areas performing invasive procedures.
Assists in orientation and training of new hires.
Operates, monitors and documents results of decontamination and sterilization equipment.
Delivers patient care equipment, inventories specialty carts, replenishes supplies for OR and centralized Case Cart System.
Prepares and distributes clean and sterile equipment and supplies.
Transports soiled and sterile surgical instrumentation between facilities.
