Job summary

Virtua Health in Voorhees, NJ seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to support infection control by cleaning, disinfecting and distributing portable patient care equipment for bedside use and surgical areas. You will help prepare and sterilize instruments for OR, L&D and other invasive procedures.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a sterile processing program, and CRCST certification within 6 months; CER preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST/CBSPD certification within 6 months of employment; CER preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, inspects and assembles surgical instruments, powered equipment and endoscopes for sterilization.
• Collects, cleans, disinfects patient care equipment and surgical instruments from OR, L&D and other invasive areas.
• Assists in orientation and training of new hires.
• Operates, monitors and documents results of decontamination and sterilization equipment.
• Delivers equipment, inventories carts, and replenishes supplies for OR and centralized case cart systems.
• Transports soiled and sterile instrumentation between facilities.
