Job summary

The Saint Alphonsus Health System in Ontario is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilization and storage of reusable surgical instruments. You will work with decontamination equipment, prepare instrument sets, restock the surgery department, and pursue CRCST or CSPDT national certification as part of ongoing professional development.

The schedule is 40 hours weekly with day shifts and occasional weekend coverage, emphasizing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified in a recognized Central service organization preferred.
• Prior experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, sterilize and store reusable surgical instruments.
• Operate sterilization equipment including cart washers, washer-disinfectors, steam sterilizers and heat sealers.
• Order and restock the surgery department with supplies and instruments.
• Pursue CRCST or CSPDT national certification as part of development.
