Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to maintain clean, sterilized instruments and support safe, high-quality surgical care. You will ensure instruments are ready, processed correctly, and organized for daily procedures.

Collaborating with nurses and surgeons, you will monitor cycles, document results, and adapt to daily priorities while maintaining safety and compliance across the sterile processing workflow.

Competenze

• Basic knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterilization processes.
• 6 months to 1 year in a surgical or health care setting.
• Knowledge of the functions of decontamination and sterilization equipment.
• Ability to exchange information in a factual, objective manner.
• Willingness to take direction from multiple sources.
• Able to be flexible with regard to task priorities and time schedules.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you’ll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that’s committed to the care and improvement of human life – one surgery at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic knowledge of surgical instrumentation and all aspects of sterilization processes, completion of a sterile processing program
• Six months to one year in a surgical or other related health care setting
• Knowledge of the functions of decontamination and sterilization equipment
• Ability to exchange information in a factual, objective manner
• Willingness to take direction from multiple sources
• Able to be flexible with regard to task priorities and time schedules
