UVA Health University Medical Center is seeking Certified Sterile Processing Technicians to support high acuity surgical services across our perioperative environment. At UVA Health, Sterile Processing Technicians are trusted experts in infection prevention and surgical readiness, working in close partnership with the Operating Room, Perioperative Services, and clinical teams to ensure the highest standards of surgery preparation. Your work directly supports safe surgeries and infection prevention which contributes directly to successful patient outcomes.
Minimum Requirements: High School Graduate or Equivalent. 1 year or relevant experience preferred; experience as CNA, EMT, PCT, or CMA highly preferred. No certification required at hire, but obtaining certain certifications within 6 months of hire may be required. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 25-50lbs. Physical demands: sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Working environment includes fumes, chemicals, vibrations, heat, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
Pay range: $16.31 - $25.28 hourly. Compensation determined by qualifications, previous experience, and/or education.
