Job summary

Novant Health's Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to support patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative unit. You will clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and distribute instrument sets, ensuring availability and readiness for procedures.

Certification in Sterile Reprocessing (CBSPD, CRCST, or CSPDT) is required, with high school diploma or GED and hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must understand instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique.

What You'll Do

-Cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing equipment

-Ensures the sterile instruments and equipment are available

-Ensures all equipment is properly maintained, and ready for immediate use in order to support patient care

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience:One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification, required. CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology. Maintains Sterile Processing Technician certification.
