Job summary

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician (PRN) to join our SPD team. You will ensure proper decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and supplies to the OR and other areas of the hospital.

You will contribute to patient safety by maintaining sterilization records and operating Steris, Ultrasonic, Steam, and Sterrad equipment. Prior experience and CBSPD/HSPA certification are valued, with English communication and basic computer

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment and instruments.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room case carts, sterile trays, and supplies for all areas of the hospital.
• Clean, assemble, wrap and sterilize reusable surgical instruments and supplies according to procedures.
• Maintain accurate sterilization records for all machine tests and monthly report.
• Operate Ultrasonic, Steam, Steris and Sterrad equipment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment and instruments
• Certification from CBSPD or HSPA
• Previous experience 1-2 years strongly preferred
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
• Basic computer knowledge
