Florida Orthopaedic Institute Surgery Center – Cypress in Tampa, FL is seeking a motivated Sterile Processing Technician to join our ASC team. This role focuses on caring for and maintaining all surgical instrumentation and preparing sets for surgery cases.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, computer skills, and prefer CRCST/CSPDT certification. Prior instrument room experience and knowledge of various sterilizers (steam, gravity, Sterrad) are valued assets.

Qualifications

• The Sterile Processing Technician maintains surgical instrumentation.
• Experience with instrument setup and operating room trays preferred.
• Familiar with medical terminology and supply items.

Florida Orthopaedic Institute Surgery Center – Cypress is seeking a motivated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. Our fast paced ASC is committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.

Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required
• Computer skills, required
• CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred
• Six months of experience, preferred
• 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician.
• Experience with all types of sterilizers.
• Knows operating room instrumentation.
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
• Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
• Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
