Job summary

Heritage Valley Sewickley is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Tech to decontaminate and reprocess sterilized supplies, while ensuring safe handling of patient care equipment. You will support the CSP department in maintaining readiness and compliance.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and pursue CSP certification within 18 months, with 10 hours of CE annually; successful clearances within 90 days are required. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

Department: Central Sterile Processing

Decontaminates and reprocesses all in-house prepared sterile supplies. Issues, tracks, decontaminates, maintains, transports various types of patient care equipment, to provide Quality Patient Care.

Qualifications

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Effective December 28, 2020 for newly hired Central Sterile Processing (CSP) Techs:*

• Must pass a nationally accredited central service exam for CSP and maintain certification
• CSP technicians will have 18 months from date of hire to pass a nationally accredited central service exam,
• Must complete 10 hours of continuing education annually

Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

*CSP Techs employed as central service technicians prior to the effective date of Act 80 (12/28/2020) are exempt from certification requirements.

Preferred

Central Sterile Processing experience.
