Job summary

AHN's Heritage Valley Beaver location is seeking a Central Sterile Processing (CSP) Technician. The position decontaminates and reprocesses sterile supplies and transports patient care equipment to ensure quality care.

Rotating 10-hour shifts include weekends/holidays; sign-on/retention bonus of 2000 is available for full-time employment. Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; CSP certification within 18 months, 12 hours CE annually, and all applicable clearances within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass a nationally accredited CSP exam and maintain certification.
• CSP technicians have 18 months from date of hire to pass the exam.
• Must complete 12 hours of continuing education annually.
• Successful completion of required clearances within 90 days of starting employment.
• CSP techs hired before Dec 28, 2020 are exempt from certification requirements.

• Decontaminates and reprocesses all in-house prepared sterile supplies.
• Issues, tracks, decontaminates, maintains, transports various types of patient care equipment to provide Quality Patient Care.

Department: Sterile Processing
Work Hours: Rotating 10 hour shifts (7am-5:30pm; 10am-8:30pm; 1pm-11:30pm; and possibly occasional 9pm-7:30am), weekends and holidays included

Qualifications

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Effective December 28, 2020 for newly hired Central Sterile Processing (CSP) Techs:

• Must pass a nationally accredited central service exam for CSP and maintain certification
• CSP technicians will have 18 months from date of hire to pass a nationally accredited central service exam
• Must complete 12 hours of continuing education annually

Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

CSP Techs employed as central service technicians prior to the effective date of Act 80 (12/28/2020) are exempt from certification requirements.

Preferred: Central Sterile Processing experience.
