The Sterile Processing Tech is a vital team member responsible for supporting clinical operations through technical tasks. This role primarily involves decontamination and reprocessing of instrument sets and sterile supplies, as well as preparing case carts for surgical procedures.


Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm


Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Receive and process instrumentation, supplies, and equipment from various sources in a timely manner.
  2. Perform cleaning and decontamination of instruments, scopes, and equipment, including disposal of biohazards, following proper PPE protocols and manufacturer instructions for use (IFU).
  3. Conduct sterilization and high-level disinfection of instruments and scopes using steam autoclaves, low-temperature, and liquid chemical methods.
  4. Perform and document daily quality checks on sterile processing environment and equipment.
  5. Maintain accurate records of sterilization and high-level disinfection tasks.
  6. Handle instrumentation and equipment according to AAMI standards and manufacturer instructions.
  7. Keep work areas and equipment maintained to meet AAMI standards and IFU's.
  8. Assist in orienting new employees to department operations and work assignments.

Required Qualifications:
  1. Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing/pulling) and lift 24 to 50 lbs regularly.
  2. Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, understanding).

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Sterile Processing certification (HSPA).
  2. At least 1 year of experience in an acute care setting.

The hourly pay ranges from $16.88 to $33.22, based on full-time employment, experience, education, certifications, and market factors. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentive programs, stock options, and 401k contributions, subject to eligibility.
