Qualifications

Job description

Join to apply for the Senior Sterile Processing Technician role at Providence.

The Senior Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for all task-based Central Services activities in the Operating Room. These activities include, but are not limited to: decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation; assembly and delivery of surgical and interventional procedure case carts; paring and replenishment of materials; and receiving and distribution of Central Services supplies. The technician must be able to decontaminate and assemble surgical instrumentation using an automated Instrument Tracking System, utilize an electronic handheld ordering device, and collaborate with the Materials Coordinator to par, order, and replenish soft supplies in the surgical core and CS packs storage area.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of formal Central Services Technician course or successfully challenged Course test.
  • Upon hire: National Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution).
  • At least 3 years of related experience with surgical instrumentation in a hospital Sterile Processing/Central Services environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Materials management and/or supply chain experience.
