Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for surgeries. You will work within a team that prioritizes patient safety and high-quality care.

The role requires completion of a Central Sterile Supply Certification Program; prior central sterile technician experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth in a major health system.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Central Sterile Supply Certification Program.
• Previous experience as a central sterile technician is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care.
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs.
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that’s committed to the care and improvement of human life – one surgery at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
