Job summary

Grand River Health Main Campus in Rifle, Colorado seeks a Sterile Processing Technician for PRN day shifts. Responsibilities include sterilizing medical supplies, testing equipment, and distributing instruments to hospital units, with a focus on maintaining safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires at least six months in a medical setting and a current BLS card; Central Service Technician training or equivalent experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months' experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Current American Heart Association approved BLS card within three months of hire and maintained throughout GRHD employment.
• Graduate of certified Central Service Technician program or prior Sterile Processing Technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, test, adjust, assemble and sterilize reusable medical supplies, instruments and equipment.
• Store and distribute patient care medical instruments and equipment to hospital units; stock storage areas.
• Perform, analyze and document sterilizer functions; test vacuums, chemical and biological indicators; inspect equipment; answer phones and assist patients and staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

• Clean, test, adjust, assemble and sterilize reusable medical supplies, instruments and equipment.
• Stores and distributes patient care medical instruments and equipment to hospital units, stocks medical supply storage areas.
• Performs, analyzes and documents sterilizer functions, tests vacuums, chemical and biological indicators, evaluates and inspects equipment, answers telephones, handles face to face interactions with patients and hospital personnel.
• Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.

Who We're Looking For

• Six months' experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Must have a current American Heart Association approved BLS card within three months of hire and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.
• Graduate of certified Central Service Technician program or previous experience as Sterile Processing Technician preferred.
• Familiarity with hospital supplies, equipment, instruments preferred.\
