Job summary

HCA Florida West Hospital in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized and ready for surgeries, supporting patient safety and efficient OR turnover.

The role requires focus on safety, attention to detail, and ability to work with nurses and surgeons. At least 6 months of experience or completion of an accredited sterile processing program is preferred. Day-evening shifts with rotating call.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months experience as a sterile processing technician or recent graduate from an accredited sterile processing program.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
