Job summary

HCA Florida West Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for surgical use. You will monitor cycles, document results, and help prepare trays and rooms for daily procedures.

The role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and teamwork with nurses and surgeons to support efficient, high-quality care across the facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience as a sterile processing technician or recent graduate from an accredited sterile processing program.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth surgeries

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that’s committed to the care and improvement of human life - one surgery at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

What qualifications you will need:

• At least 6 months experience as a sterile processing technician or recent graduate from an accredited sterile processing program
