The Opportunity:

Saint Luke's South Hospital in Overland Park, Kansas is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician. You will have the opportunity to expand your skill set, work in a challenging fast-paced environment, and be supported through continuous learning and professional development.

Shift Details:

• Monday-Friday
• Evening Shift
• Weekend Rotation and Holiday Call Required.

The Work:

• Responsible for the processing, sterilization, and documentation related to sterility of instruments used in the surgery department and on-site/off-site clinics in accordance with AORN and AAMI standards.
• Decontaminates and assembles instrument sets and surgery trays using count sheets. Verifies proper function and integrity of instruments. Labels instruments correctly and returns them to their proper location.
• Communicates effectively and positively with team members and surgery staff.
• Moves with a sense of urgency when needed.
• Efficient in the quality execution of instrumentation that is directly related to patient safety and department efficiencies.
• Familiar with AAMI Joint Commission and APIC standards related to infection control.
