Job summary

Hospital Sisters Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for daytime, 40 hours per week at St Elizabeth Hospital in O'Fallon, IL. You will ensure proper decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments and coordinate distribution across units and service contracts.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, CRCST certification, and 12–18 months of sterile processing experience, with a focus on infection control and aseptic technique.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $19.00 - $27.55. A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.

Job Responsibilities

Performs a variety of sterile processing functions. Assures proper decontamination, quality assurance, sterilization of equipment, and distribution of sterile surgical instrumentation to areas throughout the affiliate and outside service contracts to ensure quality patient care and safety.

Identifies and remedies equipment failures and hazards posing potential risks to patients.

In addition to, assists department leadership by facilitating department daily operations, including ancillary departments and inpatient floors, maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with team members, and leads conflict resolution and coaching.

Qualifications

Education Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED is required.

Experience Qualifications: WI - 12 months experience as a Sterile Processing Technician I or comparable healthcare experience in nursing procedures, aseptic technique, medical terminology, and infection control is required. IL – 18 months hospital sterile processing or related work experience is required.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations: Certified and Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) is required.
