Job summary

Saint Luke's in Missouri is seeking a sterile processing technician responsible for sterilization, labeling, and documentation of patient care supplies, instruments, and equipment in accordance with AORN Standards.

You will prepare and assemble instrument sets and trays using count sheets, verify instrument function, and return items to their designated locations while upholding APIC/AAMI guidelines to ensure patient safety.

Job Description

This position is responsible for the processing sterilization and documentation related to sterility of patient care supplies instruments and equipment used throughout the hospital in accordance with the AORN Standards of Practice. Prepare and assemble instrument sets and surgery trays using count sheets and verifies proper function and integrity of instruments. Labels instruments correctly and returns them to their proper location. Efficient in the quality execution of instrumentation that is directly related to patient safety and department efficiencies. Familiar with AAMI Joint Commission and APIC standards related to infection control.
