Job summary

Hospital Sisters Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician I to perform decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of sterile instruments. You will support department leadership and collaborate with inpatient floors to maintain high patient safety standards.

The role requires CRCST certification, 12–18 months of sterile processing or related experience, and a High School diploma; day shift, 40 hours per week in Illinois facilities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 12 months experience as a Sterile Processing Technician I or comparable healthcare experience in nursing procedures, aseptic technique, medical terminology, and infection control is required.
  • IL – 18 months hospital sterile processing or related work experience is required.
  • CRCST certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of sterile processing functions and ensures decontamination, quality assurance and sterilization of equipment.
  • Distributes sterile instrumentation to areas throughout the affiliate and manages service contracts to ensure patient safety.
  • Identifies and remedies equipment failures and hazards; facilitates department daily operations and coaching with team members.

Pay Range:$19.00 - $27.55A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.Performs a variety of sterile processing functions. Assures proper decontamination, quality assurance, sterilization of equipment, and distribution of sterile surgical instrumentation to areas throughout the affiliate and outside service contracts to ensure quality patient care and safety. Identifies and remedies equipment failures and hazards posing potential risks to patients.
