Job summary

Barkley SurgiCenter is seeking a full-time Sterile Processing Technician to maintain and care for all surgical instruments and to prepare supplies for surgery cases. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of sterile processing experience, with certification preferred.

The Sterile Processing Technician maintains and cares for all surgical instruments. Prepares supplies and instruments for surgery cases.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Sterile Processing experience
• Completion of a Sterile Process Certification program is preferred
• Experience with all types of sterilizers
• Knowledge of operating room instrumentation and procedures
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when needed
