Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood in Houston, TX, seeks a Sterile Processing Tech PRN to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for surgery. You will support a fast-paced OR team by preparing trays, tracking sterilization cycles, and maintaining infection control standards.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and certification in CRCST or CSPDT within 2 years of start. This PRN position offers flexible scheduling and comprehensive benefits as part of a major healthcare

Qualifications

High School Graduate or GED required.
Certification: CRCST or CSPDT must be obtained within 2 years of start date.

Responsibilities

Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver safe, high-quality care.
Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs.
Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries.

Education

High School Graduate / GED

(CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
