Job summary

Northwest Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in Portland, OR is seeking a part-time Sterile Processing Technician to support our OR team. The role involves cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing instrument trays and preparing needed instrumentation for cases.

This position features a daytime Monday–Friday schedule with no on-call, nights, weekends, or holiday hours. Requirements include a Sterile Processing Program graduate, CRCST/CSPDT preferred, CPR certification, and strong computer and teamwork

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Sterile Processing Program.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred.
• 1+ years experience in a multi-specialty operating room environment.
• CPR accredited by AHA required.
• Knowledge of sterile processing operations and issues.
• Knowledge of medical instruments and surgical procedures as related to the OR.
• Knowledge of the proper set up of an operating room.
• Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with physicians, surgeons, operating room staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Good computer skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks successfully.
• Demonstrate clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.

Responsibilities

• The Sterile Processing Tech cleans, disinfects and sterilizes the instrument trays and supports the OR team with preparing needed instrumentation for cases.
• Monday-Friday daytime work schedule
• NO call required
• NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours
• Part time requires 20 - 29 hours/week.
