Job summary

Adventist Health Portland is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, sterilize, assemble surgical instrument sets and distribute supplies within a 302-bed medical center in East Portland. The role supports the Operating Room and related departments under RN supervision.

Requirements include Sterile Processing Technician certification and a high school diploma; an Associate's/Technical degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates and processes instruments, including compiling instrument sets and counting instruments.
• Performs daily diagnostic testing on sterilizing equipment and evaluates instruments for function and safety.
• Provides reprocessing services for ancillary department instruments.
• Works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and reports to the perioperative services manager.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
