Job summary

Kettering Health’s Miamisburg location seeks a full-time sterilization professional to decontaminate, sort, and prepare instruments for surgical cases. You will operate washers, pack instrument trays, and perform sterilization using STERRAD, steam, and EO gas as trained.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED. Weekend and holiday on-call may be required, and prior related experience or certification is preferred. Join a not-for-profit health system serving southwest Ohio.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Previous related experience and certification strongly preferred.
• Must be able to take call on Weekends and Holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination on instruments, equipment, and other items as needed.
• Sorts and cleans instruments and equipment by hand and/or washer/disinfectant.
• Assembles, wraps, and packages instruments, instrument trays, and supplies.
• Sterilizes instruments and supplies using STERRAD, steam and ethylene oxide gas sterilizers as trained.
• “Picks” instruments, instrument trays, supplies, in a timely matter for surgery.
• Performs basic computer functions using a Windows based system as needed.
