Job summary

Westlawn Surgery Center in Murfreesboro, TN is hiring a PRN Sterile Processing Technician to maintain surgical instrumentation and prepare trays for cases.

This role supports a patient-centered OR team with no weekends, no on-call and no holidays. Certification as Sterile Processing Technician and 2–3 years in instrument room work are required, with knowledge of steam/gravity and Sterrad sterilizers.

Qualifications

• Certified Sterile Processing Technician
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 2-3 years’ experience as Instrument Room Technician.
• Experience with all types of sterilizers.
• Knows operating room instrumentation.
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
• Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
• Understands Sterrad sterilizers.

Responsibilities

• Cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.
• Establishes effective working relationships with patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors.
• Supports department functions in alignment with USPI’s mission, vision, and facility goals.
