Sterile Processing Tech - FT- Monn - Fri - Nights - Sterile Processing Department - St. Mary's Hospital - Athens, GA
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for handling daily activities of sterilizing devices, tools, and equipment used in surgical procedures.
Responsible for providing safe and efficient indirect care of the perioperative patient. This is achieved through performing the decontamination, preparation, packaging, sterilization and distribution of hospital instrumentation, as well as supplies and equipment for all Surgical Services.
Education: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM)
Experience: Two years experience in another Central Sterile Processing Area preferred. Certification will be required within 6 months of onboarding.
Special Qualifications: Knowledgeable in basic aseptic techniques, knowledgeable of the Sterilization process of equipment and supplies and knowledgeable of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies. Reasonably self-motivated, has the ability to work independently
