Job summary

St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, is seeking a full-time Central Sterile Technician to be responsible for processing all sterile and non-sterile materials for surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will maintain the efficiency of autoclaves and assist during recalls as necessary.

• Graduate of surgical tech or central sterile tech program.
• Experience in CSS preferred, not required.

• Perform Decontamination Procedure According to Policy.

• Maintain Patient Equipment.

The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for processing all sterile and non-sterile materials, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures. He/she is capable of testing autoclaves for efficiency and maintaining records. He/she assists in the recall process as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs Decontamination Procedure According to Policy
• Performs Sterilization Procedure According to departmental Policy
• Maintains Patient Equipment

Qualifications

Education

• HS diploma, graduated from surgical tech or central sterile tech program

Experience

• Prefer experience in CSS, not required

Certifications

• Certified CSS preferred, not required
