Job summary

Community Hospital Corporation in Gainesville, TX is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our surgical services team. Under the Director of Surgical Services, you will prepare instrument trays, ensure aseptic processing, and maintain accurate sterilization records.

Responsibilities include organizing instruments, supporting the surgical schedule, ensuring sterility monitors are in place, and coordinating with floor staff and physicians.

Qualifications

• Current BLS Certification.
• Sterile Processing Technician certification required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain instrument trays for surgical procedures following asepsis.
• Organize instruments, equipment and supplies for easy access and efficiency.
• Ensure sterilized items have required sterility monitors to validate effectiveness of sterile processing.
• Maintain accurate records of all sterilization procedures and notify the director of variances.
• Minimize delays in surgical schedule as a result of instrument management.
• Coordinate own schedule with floor coordinator, other department staff and physicians.
• Assist with/performs independently other department functions, such as endoscopy technician and scheduler/secretary.
