Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National certification as a Central/Sterile Processing Technician preferred, or completion of an accredited training program.
• One year of recent experience in sterile processing or central service.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment preferred.
• CPR/BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, decontaminate, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment per protocols.
• Operate and maintain sterile processing equipment, including washers, steam, gas, ultrasonic, and chemical sterilizers.
• Interpret autoclav e printouts, load clearances, washer settings, auto-reader monitoring, and DART testing.
• Prepare trays for designated areas according to departmental policies.
• Maintain accurate sterilization and inventory records; manage instrument and tray inventory levels.
