Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support infection control by preparing, cleaning, disinfecting and distributing portable patient care equipment, properly prepared and documented for bedside use.

You will clean, decontaminate, sterilize and distribute medical and surgical instruments for use in the Operating Rooms, Labor & Delivery, and at the bedside or in departments such as Endoscopy, ensuring readiness and safety across care areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST/CBSPD certification preferred; certification within 6 months if enrolled in a sterile processing program may be required.
• Prior sterile processing experience or formal training in surgical instrumentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, inspects and assembles surgical instruments, powered equipment, and endoscopes for sterilization.
• Collects, cleans, disinfects patient care equipment and surgical instruments from clinical units and operating rooms.
• Delivers equipment, inventories specialty carts and replenishes supplies for the OR and related areas.
• Transports soiled and sterile instrumentation between facilities as needed.
• Operates, monitors and documents results of decontamination and sterilization equipment.
