Job summary

New England Center for Orthopaedic Surgery, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Certified Instrument/Sterile Processing Tech to assist with cleaning, sterilizing, and preparing surgical instruments and supplies. You will work under a Registered Nurse to ensure sterile, safe equipment for procedures in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

The role requires knowledge of sterilization standards, one year of processing experience, and a valid BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• One year experience in surgical instrument sterilization processing.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment.
• Certification and knowledge of standards and guidelines of AAMI and ASHCSP.

Responsibilities

• Maintain instruments and equipment sanitation and sterilization.
• Ensure a sanitary environment for patient care.
• Follow appropriate sterilization methods per manufacturer instructions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of high level disinfection for endoscopy equipment.
• Maintain a daily log and test efficacy of disinfecting solution per cycle.
• Record test loads and sterilization cycles; report deviations to OR Coordinator/Nurse Manager.
• Maintain an accurate log for equipment out for repair.
