Job summary

Capital Health is seeking an Instrument Sterilization Technician to decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize surgical instrumentation in a fast-paced clinical environment. The role requires ensuring sterility and proper handling of instruments for the operating room.

Responsibilities include operating washers and sterilizers, maintaining logs, and mentoring new staff as needed. A high school diploma and CRCST credential are required, with 1 year of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year related experience preferred.
• CRCST certification or state-recognized sterile processing credential required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble and sterilize surgical instrumentation following standard procedures.
• Operate washers, sterilizers and related equipment safely and document results.
• Triages instrumentation to meet customer needs and communicate status.
• Inspect instruments for bio-burden and proper function; perform maintenance as needed.
• Assemble case carts and ensure correct items are included and labeled.
