Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments and equipment meet the highest quality and safety standards. You will decontaminate, inspect, and prepare items for use across the operating room and hospital units.

Join a large, integrated health system with a focus on compassionate care and patient safety. Must have CRCST/CSPDT certifications and at least 1 year of sterile processing experience.

Qualifications

• Must be able to retain knowledge of identification and handling requirements of surgical instruments, medical supplies and equipment.
• Must be able to understand, speak, and write English fluently to communicate with the nursing, technical and medical staff.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Collects, disinfects, decontaminates instruments and equipment according to hospital policies and procedures.
• Prioritizes workload based on operating room and hospital unit needs.
• Operates washer-decontaminator, cart washer, and ultrasonic cleaner for decontamination.
• Inspects and prepares instruments and equipment for use; ensures cleanliness and proper function.
