Job summary

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure sterile instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and ready for procedures. You will prepare trays, decontaminate, inspect, and assemble instruments, and maintain inventory and records.

The role offers a full-time position with a variable shift and pay range shown, with opportunities for certification within one year and growth in a mission-driven healthcare system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Completion of Sterile Processing Technician training or CRCST/CBSPD certification is acceptable.
• Basic computer skills and strong communication are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical instrument trays and supplies for procedures.
• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, and assemble surgical instruments.
• Operate autoclaves and other sterilization equipment.
• Disassemble and reassemble complex instrument sets.
• Verify instruments are functioning properly and meet quality standards.
• Restock supplies and maintain inventory levels.
• Distribute instruments, equipment, and supplies throughout surgical and procedural areas.
• Maintain sterilization records and documentation.
• Clean and maintain department equipment.
• Work closely with surgical teams to start procedures on time and safely.
• Follow infection prevention and patient safety standards at all times.
